Assistant Coach - Track and Field/Cross Country
Description
- Assist the Head Coach in determining the scope and purpose of the Track and Field/Cross Country program, including coaching student-athletes.
- Establish and implement recruiting, academic, athletic, and community service policies for student-athletes.
- Assist with the Track and Field/Cross Country summer camp.
- Maintain current skills and techniques in coaching, recruiting, training, and general management of a Division I-A intercollegiate sport program while adhering to Athletics Department, university, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Complete administrative duties for the Track and Field/Cross Country offices, including general front office tasks, travel arrangements/authorizations, generating requisitions, receiving purchase orders, managing p-card/t-card administrative tasks, updating and implementing the recruiting database, processing ADF forms, IDRs, and vendor profiles.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and payments, and complete travel documents for the sport.
- Assist in coordination of all home men's and women's Track and Field/Cross Country events.
- Manage all aspects of Track and Field/Cross Country clinics, coaches clinics, and alumni events.
- Oversee and maintain the overall budgets for the Track and Field/Cross Country programs, keeping coaches informed weekly on budget status and alerting coaching staff and sport oversight administrator immediately if items are requested that are not budgeted.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and one year of coaching experience at the high school level or above.
- Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable for up to one year of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
