Head Softball Coach
Description

Thiel College seeks a Head Softball Coach who will be responsible for all aspects of the intercollegiate softball program while holistically developing student-athletes to be leaders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the softball program and supervising day-to-day operations.
  • Teaching/instructing student-athletes in their designated sport (primary duty of all coaches).
  • Monitoring student-athletes' academic performance and social behavior.
  • Recruiting, retaining, and graduating quality student-athletes for Thiel College and the athletic program.
  • Developing and implementing a strategic recruiting plan.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding recruiting goals.
  • Maintaining target roster sizes.
  • Managing the allotted budget.
  • Coordinating fundraising activities with the Director of Athletics.
  • Developing a competitive competition schedule in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
  • Coordinating and implementing community service activities.
  • Mentoring and developing assistant coaches.
  • Serving as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Serving on campus committees as needed.
  • Acting as a gameday administrator.
  • Monitoring Thiel College athletic facilities as directed by the Director of Athletics.
  • Following all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, the Presidents Athletic Conference, and Thiel College.
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of coaching experience at the college level.
  • Competence in athletics management and leadership.
  • Understanding of student-athlete development.
  • Deep commitment to the values promoted by Thiel College and the athletic department.
