Warner Pacific University invites applications for the part-time position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. This role reports directly to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and is instrumental in supporting the administration of the basketball program, adhering to the policies and regulations established by the Board of Trustees, the university administration, the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Essential Functions:
- Assist in managing and directing all aspects of the women’s basketball program.
- Support recruiting efforts, ensuring compliance with College and NAIA policies and achieving roster size goals.
- Aid in recruiting reporting through FrontRush.
- Develop and implement practice plans.
- Oversee budget operations, ensuring adherence to expenditure procedures.
- Participate in fundraising activities, following College and departmental guidelines.
- Coordinate team travel arrangements including transportation, lodging, and meals in collaboration with the Director of Athletics.
- Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
- Engage in public relations activities for the program.
- Organize and participate in team community service activities.
- Exhibit good sportsmanship, maintaining poise and self-control, and teaching the team to play hard yet fairly.
- Act as a welcoming host to visiting teams, coaches, officials, and spectators.
- Ensure student-athletes practice good sportsmanship and abide by team and departmental policies.
- Maintain compliance with College, CCC, and NAIA policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Head Women’s Basketball Coach for game management.
- Adhere to departmental and college expenditure policies.
- Maintain inventory of college-owned equipment and uniforms.
- Report any potential NAIA violations to the Athletic Director.
- Work closely with the Sports Medicine office for the care, strength & conditioning, and injury prevention of student-athletes.
- Participate in professional development opportunities through the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, NAIA, CCC, and Warner Pacific University.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Coaching experience in a high school, club, or collegiate environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel 50-75% during the season.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to work with a wide range of people.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to independently initiate and implement projects.
- Ability to multi-task with accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt and work effectively in varied-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Collegiate-level head or assistant coaching experience.
- Experience in recruiting student-athletes.
