Fairleigh Dickinson University is seeking an Assistant Sports Information Director who will report to the Sports Information Director. The Assistant Sports Information Director will provide assistance in the development and administration of all athletic communications and media relations for the University’s Division III intercollegiate athletic program, in alignment with NCAA and Middle Atlantic Conference regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the public relations efforts of a comprehensive NCAA Division III athletics program with 24 varsity sports.
• Publicize and promote the athletics program to local, regional, and national audiences.
• Manage FDU home intercollegiate contests and sports hosting events throughout the year.
• Collaborate with the Sports Information Director in various administrative tasks related to athletic communications.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, English, public relations, sports administration/management, or a related field.
• 1 – 3 years of experience in an athletic media and communications department, either as a student or professional.
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, StatCrew software suites, web content management software, and social media platforms.
• Background in publication design, news writing, and athletic scheduling.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics.
• Availability to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates must sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
