Position Summary:
The University of Idaho seeks a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. This role encompasses all aspects of managing successful men's and women's track and field and cross-country programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Athletics, with additional reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Sport Liaison, the Director is expected to uphold the highest standards of professional integrity while ensuring compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes.
• Provide on-the-field coaching during practices and competitions.
• Recruit high-caliber student-athletes.
• Prepare for meets and competitions.
• Coordinate the scheduling of meets/contests and arrange travel logistics.
• Manage the program's operating budget.
• Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
• Lead fundraising initiatives.
• Engage in promotional and public relations activities, including speaking engagements and media interviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience in intercollegiate track coaching.
• Proven ability to establish working relationships with athletes, department members, administrators, university faculty and staff, professional colleagues, and the general public.
• Experience in public relations.
• Experience in the academic and athletic preparation of student-athletes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree.
• Competitive experience as a track and field athlete at the intercollegiate level.
• Successful head or assistant coaching experience within NCAA Division 1.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
