Position Summary:

Red Bull New York is seeking a passionate and dedicated Academy Goalkeeping Coach to develop goalkeepers within our academy system. The role will focus on identifying, nurturing, and improving young goalkeepers to meet the professional demands of MLS, while aligning with Red Bull's overarching philosophy and playing style.

As the Academy Goalkeeping Coach, you will be working closely with academy players (ages 9-19), supporting their technical, tactical, and mental development. You will also work in collaboration with the broader coaching staff to ensure the goalkeepers are integrated into team training and match play according to the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Goalkeeper Development: Design and deliver structured, innovative training sessions tailored to individual goalkeepers' needs.
  • Player Identification & Scouting: Assist in identifying and recruiting potential academy goalkeepers through scouting and talent identification programs.
  • Performance Analysis: Utilize video analysis and statistical data to track goalkeeper performances, provide feedback, and develop personalized improvement plans.
  • Match Preparation & Evaluation: Assist in game-day preparation for goalkeepers, including match strategy, opposition analysis, and post-match evaluations.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Academy Director, coaching staff, sports scientists, and medical team to align the goalkeeping development process with the academy's overall objectives.
  • Player Wellbeing: Prioritize player well-being and mental health, fostering a positive, supportive, and competitive environment for academy goalkeepers.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • UEFA/USSF Coaching License (Goalkeeping-specific preferred) or relevant coaching certifications.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience at the youth, collegiate, or professional level, with a focus on goalkeeping development.
  • Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping techniques, tactical systems, and match analysis.
  • Ability to deliver clear, structured training sessions aligned with Red Bull New York's style of play.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with young athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire and lead young athletes while contributing to a cohesive coaching unit.
  • Video analysis experience and familiarity with performance tracking software/tools.
  • A passion for player development and a deep understanding of the talent pathway.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with elite youth goalkeepers in a professional academy setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
  • Understanding of MLS and US Soccer Academy guidelines and regulations.
