Adams County School District 14 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Coach for the Boys Wrestling team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to support student-athletes in their development, both on and off the mat, and ensure that the program runs smoothly. This individual will be responsible for helping create a positive, competitive environment where athletes can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practice sessions.
• Provide individual and team instruction, teaching athletes wrestling techniques, conditioning, and match strategies.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership development among student-athletes.
• Help manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment distribution, and communication with parents/guardians.
• Maintain accurate records of athlete performance and progress.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all school district policies, state regulations, and league rules.
• Promote academic achievement and character development for all student-athletes.
• Assist in organizing and supervising wrestling events such as matches and tournaments.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and training as required.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous wrestling coaching or competitive wrestling experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of wrestling rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.
• Knowledge of CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) rules and guidelines (preferred).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to participate in wrestling drills and physical activities alongside athletes.
• Ability to lift, move, and manage wrestling equipment.
