Description

Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive athletic training services to student-athletes at West Jordan High School. This position will work closely with coaches, physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety, health, and wellness of student-athletes by preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide athletic training services at West Jordan High School, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for athletes in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of athletes, documenting evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
  • Provide emergency care and first aid to injured athletes during practices, games, and events.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of conditioning programs to reduce the risk of injuries.
  • Educate athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention, proper equipment use, and safety protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between student-athletes, coaches, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive care plan.
  • Oversee compliance with safety protocols and guidelines during training and competition.
  • Support the athletic department with administrative tasks related to sports medicine and athlete health.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field.
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
  • Current Athletic Trainer licensure in the state of Utah or eligible to obtain licensure.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Strong understanding of sports-related injuries and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing situations, and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Previous experience working in a high school or similar setting is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires regular evening and weekend hours to cover athletic events.
  • Must be physically capable of assisting athletes in high-stress situations and during injury rehabilitation exercises.
  • Work is performed indoors in a clinical setting as well as outdoors on athletic fields.
