Position Overview: Eastern Florida State College is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Softball program as the Head Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student-athlete success, both on and off the field. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the softball program, including coaching, recruiting, player development, and program administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive softball program that supports the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor student-athletes to compete at a high level in the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA).
  • Create and maintain a competitive schedule, ensuring the team competes against high-quality opponents.
  • Organize and conduct practice sessions to develop individual and team skills.
  • Manage the softball program budget, including equipment and travel expenses.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, integrity, and respect.
  • Ensure compliance with all NJCAA, FCSAA, and college rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with athletic department staff on game day operations, fundraising, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and personal development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with alumni, supporters, and the local community to enhance the visibility and support of the softball program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain student-athletes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
