Winnisquam Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Middle School Softball Coach for the upcoming season. This stipend position runs from April through June and is a great opportunity for someone passionate about sports and youth development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coaching and Training: Plan, organize, and lead daily practice sessions. Develop and implement training programs to improve players' skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Game Preparation: Prepare the team for games, including strategy planning, player positioning, and game-day logistics. Ensure that all players understand game tactics and their roles.
• Team Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all players. Address conflicts and manage team dynamics effectively.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all practices and games adhere to safety standards and school policies. Conduct regular equipment checks and enforce proper use.
• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with players, parents, and school administration. Provide regular updates on team progress and any issues.
• Administrative Duties: Manage and track attendance, player performance, and other administrative tasks related to the team. Assist in scheduling practices and games in coordination with the school's athletic department.
• End-of-Season Evaluation: Conduct evaluations of player performance and provide constructive feedback. Assist with the organization of end-of-season activities and celebrations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience coaching softball or similar sports, preferably at the middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of the game of softball, including strategies, techniques, and rules.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage young athletes.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and personal growth.
• NFHS Concussion in Sports certification, First Aid and CPR certification is required; or willingness to obtain certification prior to the season.
• Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies regarding sports programs.
